Why is it over-priced? Simply because it has risen so far, so fast? Before I give my justification arguing the current valuation, at least provide your justification for shorting it. (I would also like to analyze what your input is vs. UncleWest's post.) tia

Seems like there are a ton of candidates to short with much less going for it than ELON. As to your question, I would answer it with two words.

The Future.

Re: shorting elon

I have found it exceedingly difficult to quantify an accurate and meaningful valuation for Elon.
In this respect I'll let the market do the talking. If one looks at the projected EPS growth rate for the company it would appear to be explosive.

I am not a short term trader in this issue and believe that the long term prospects for share price appreciation are exponential to the upside.

You have in the past successfully shorted stocks that I hold long (IATV is one example, but imho they do not yet seem to be at Elon's stage of industry acceptance, at least from publicly available info.) I understand that you are astute in your trading and have nimble fingers. I have found that short term movements in Elon can be quite surprising (look at big up days since end dec '99, in conjunction with overall market direction).

Imho, right now the flag on their chart appears to be bullish, but the candles may reveal some short term bearish sentiment. Elon does have an uncanny proclivity for releasing big news at just the right time and seems to be currently one of the market darlings. Consider this one very carefully imo.

Roger,
Auric Goldfinger elected to stand in front of this train, and if you look you'll probably find him in a body bag a few dozen posts and points back.

I used to resent shorts, but your overture was civil, and I have been led to understand that shorting activities free up shares from margined longs who would never freely give them up otherwise. I have continued to buy from as far back as 3 1/2 to last week at 87, and am not alone. You'll certainly find buyers.

Have at it.

Bill
