Jay, BUT DON'T FORGET THAT MICROSOFT IS A HUGE CompactFlash FAN!

The eBooks available now were outdated at the time of release.

Let Microsoft teach them how to do it with a multifunction palm tablet that supports CF and CF+.

This is a must read for SNDK longs...

Pocket PCs will be built on powerful 32-bit microprocessors with plenty of core system memory. It comes with industry-standard expansion slots that customers can use to extend their storage or connectivity options. For example, users can take a CompactFlash memory card similar to a small floppy disk and insert it into the Pocket PC for over 300 additional megabytes of storage. In addition, this same expansion slot provides the ability to plug in a modem, a digital camera or any number of hardware devices, enabling customers to expand what the Pocket PC can do.

"The Pocket PC has a CompactFlash slot that enables it
to work with a range of peripherals and add-ons."

Windows PocketPC OS is what I am waiting for with exceptional textual display ("cleartype") and a RISC processor that will allow me to do whatever I want...read web pages wirelessly from the comfort of my bed, listen to mp3, review the day's photoshoot of the kids, write e-mail off line, play Space Invaders and nod off with a good novel that I download from the Internet for $2.50 without ever lifting my fat ass off the mattress.

I will just need to send it in for a factory cleaning every 6 months to remove the Doritos from the card slots.

BTW, I want a CF slot on all four sides of my eBook.

Sony News: stolen from Yahoo!

ipnetwork.com

"According to our analysis up to now, the problems are not traced to specific software items but to faults in individual memory cards, and we will continue to make efforts to reduce the ratio of faulty products on the market, " the company said.

I hope that Sony is successful in correcting the problem.
What is good for Sony's memory cards is good for the removable flash memory market as a whole.
