Greg,

We each have our own way to play GG that fits our investing temperament.

No question about that. But since this is a forum based on the fundamental axioms in the manual, rest assured that when anyone repeatedly makes references to short-term concepts, makes inaccurate references to the most basic timing strategies clearly detailed in the manual, and otherwise gets so far off the subject of what Gorilla Gaming in my mind is really all about, that person will more than likely have to put up with me reminding them of how far astray I believe the discussion has gone.

RE: INTC & MSFT

Just for the heck of it, here's a 10 year chart on those two 'dead money' stocks:

siliconinvestor.com

Microsoft - 11,699%

Intel - 6,294%

I understand your point, but always like to take a gander at charts. Microsoft certainly was looking good in December when it was up around $115+ .

I don't think there is any issue with that. It is just
that you wouldn't really want to discuss MO on MOT
thread, would you ?

I suspect few here follow GG only for their investments.

>>But my money and time is precious to me, I don't want it sitting
around like INTC did or MSFT is now. That's is what my dwelling comment is about. <<

Greg,

I think you make a very good point. My view of GG is that it is an excellent method of selecting the "ultimate" leaders in particular industries/sectors. HOWEVER, I think the business cycle DOES exist. And even if it DOESN'T exist, theperception that it does will always lead to sector rotation and even the "Gorillas" are not immune from net money outflows once it has been generally accepted that a sector's growth is waning. I had read recently that investors who pay attention to sector rotation (and modify their portfolios accordingly) do much better than LTBH. But I would also emphasize that accumulating an established Gorilla (such as MSFT or INTC) is usually a good investment strategy. Once they come back into favor they usually do with a vengeance.
