I arranged to meet up with Crazy Canuk in Vancouver, who was already in Calgary for the Net Sherpard AGM and was planning on carrying on to BC to also visit companies. The only thing I can say is the name suits him <gggg>

Yes, the hooking up together in Vancouver was fun, however I now know why you use the name Keith Massey. It is because his real name is . . . Yanaohazk Pharnooomawichaz III. <VBG> Just kidding folks - his name is really Keith, and he is the real deal.

I have to agree with you that this 4 day trip to Calgary and Vancouver was one of the best Due Diligence trips that I have been on as well. When you actually get the opportunity to visit a company and speak directly with the management and staff of that organization, it provides you with a much deeper understanding of the potential or problems that otherwise might have been missed. I really don't understand how an analyst who covers a company can do a thorough job without visiting the business they are writing about. Now I don't profess to be an analyst, however I do pride myself in my ability to judge people.

From our visit to Mr. Chu's office, I can say that I left there much more comfortable about my investment in the company than I was when I arrived. Don't get me wrong, I was very bullish on their prospects, but until actually sitting down and talking directly to the head of the company, there was always an element of doubt. However, there is now no longer any doubt in my mind that this man will make this company a great one. He had a very good answer for all of our questions, and as I can only speak on my own behalf, I can say that his answers often exceeded what I had hoped for.

What was a pleasant surprise was that prior to our visit, I had basically discounted the CIBT School of Business as a non essential entity that was an interesting diversion. I hadn't really paid much attention to it. Boy, was I ever wrong! I now consider it as a viable, exciting and dynamic growth opportunity for them. As you have already pointed out, their school is located in state of the art buildings which are a far cry from what I had been expecting. I have asked Mr. Chu to forward me copies of pictures of these buildings so that I can provide them as links to one of these posts. I want to mention that CIBT has the largest student body in a joint venture MBA program in Beijing. I could go on, and on about what this relatively young company has already accomplished and is doing now, but I will save that for another day.

Lately I have tried to pay special attention to people when they have been talking about what might happen to their investments in companies - if and when - the overall market corrects. I feel that it is important to remind newer investors that the Stock Exchange Global (SEG) business model is that it is a portal which allows individuals, or institutions to buy or sell shares around the world. And as such, the company has a great model which enables them to make money whether these people or firms place buy or a sell orders. So, to restate the obvious, if there is a stock market correction, and people are attempting to sell shares, then SEG will benefit. If the market stays strong and people continue to buy, then SEG will also make money by enabling that transaction to take place. I feel that it is important to point out that given the dynamics of world markets, while some countries are enjoying a great bull market, others may not be. Once again, within reason it won't really matter to us if a specific stock markets fortunes rise and fall with a country's economy, SEG's model will be immune to this shifting effect. As a Global business, if there was any fluctuations in volumes based on a bull or bear market in a region of the world, they will be able to smooth out these spikes. Not all companies can make that claim! This one can, and the advantages this offers helps me to fully appreciate the drive that companies are making to 'Go Global'.

During our conversation with Mr. Chu, I was extremely impressed by the depth and breadth of his business contacts. His black book of names and addresses of people who have expressed an interest in what he is doing is stunning. I know that this might sound like a fair degree of hyperbole, but I assure you that in this case it is warranted.

I also have to say that after meeting Mr. Chu, I can now appreciate why he has won all of the recognition and awards that he has. He is personable, and he is very focused on building this business and achieving his vision. Now I don't know about other investors, but it gives me a rush to know that the head of a company that I am invested has a successful track record, he knows where he wants to be, and is driven to achieve his goals.

Anyone who knows me will recognize that one of the things that I look for in an investment is a favourable Risk - Reward ratio. This ratio has be to based on a company's business model, their growth potential, and the strength of their management team. Well I can assure you that after our trip, I believe that in CPT's case I believe the risks are minimal and the potential rewards are very high.

Yes, it was indeed a great visit.

Crazy Canuck

P.S. "Good night Yanaohazk . . . er I mean Keith!"
