Besides AMAT, I own LRCX. Yesterday in the LRCX conference call, CEO Bagley said that LRCX was making gains in market share in Japan. I wonder if this is at AMAT's expense or other companies? I believe the markets were etch and CMP that they were doing well in. Of course, LRCX lost market share and had some catching up to do.

Uh, gentlemen, and who would these European equipment vendor alternatives to AMAT ( or Novellus, Lam, KLA for that matter ) be? AMAT has a small handful of potential competition per system type ( Lam, TEL for etch; Novellus for DCVD; Varian, Eaton for Implant, etc.) but virtually no European competition.
