Re : "Globalstar Site Visit" post -- maybe I am being a real obsessed,"tunnel vision," die-hard Globalstar fanatic, but this sure sounds to me like time to "back up the truck" and load up on GSTRF shares anywhere around $10 a share.

$10 a share translates to a total market cap. of a little under $3 billion now (excluding debt) (but, the debt is way under 100 cents on the dollar right now).

Up ten-fold would still not get us to a very high valuation ...

Jon.

Thanks for the report Jack. A couple of minor mistakes.

The 'fleet' is NOT at 900km altitude, it is at 1414km. Iridium was just below 900km.

The shareholding is [I think] 42% Loral, 40% GSTRF and only 18% LP partners [including QUALCOMM at 6%], not < 42% by Loral, 26% by you and me, and 32% by the service providers>

It is the gateway which does the power adjusting, not the satellite [which sounds a bit pedantic, but it's important to understand that the smart electronic gizzardry is on the ground at the gateways, not stuck up in space].

There are 8 spare satellites, not 4. Which doesn't make much difference but it's nice to have them there, just in case. Maybe when the batteries are getting stressed, they can act as a fill-in now and then.

10bn minutes and a maximum of $5bn is not strictly correct. The capacity can be increased by correctly pricing the minutes, which would have the added merit of increasing profits. The capacity estimates are based on the archaic 20th century idea of giving busy signals to people rather than offering service [but at a higher price]. It is likely that sometime in the next 4 years, somebody will realize that a big lot of money and minutes will be wasted without this system. [This just to keep Jon happy!] So the revenue and total minutes sold will be wayyyy in excess of $5bn and 10bn.

Maurice
