Anyone shorting AVNX? It looks like the Gilder effect is wearing off.

I agree Dale, MARGIN WILL EVENTUALLY KILL YOU ... never again margins,NEVER AGAIN averaging DOWN ..maybe averaging UP on a short sell during a day trade.

stop losses are extremely important ...

The 2 most successful methods of shorting are as follow:

1) either you have a research on a stock that is being a fraud or pumped to be dumped for warrants or whatever ...

2) or, you day-trade on momentum with in the range, but i found shorting stocks at a high within that range usually pays off well, if you do not get greedy, if you have descipline, and if you have a quick executing trading system ..like AB Watley

TREES CAN NOT GROW TO REACH THE MOON ... that is why trading on the short side is much safer than on the long side, as it could be falling knife :)

Flipping is also important ... i sometimes sell 20% short ...then when it falls sharply, i cover 40% , thus going long with 20% just for a bounce of a point or 2, then dump it again :) i just did this today :)

Networking is also very helpfull ... that is why i created my thread " cooperative group-trading" : to help share idea's for the day
Subject 28761

For example, I bought LONG some KEM @ 62 beased on Rajiv's rec.

I also bought "LONG" some MWAV ( based on Tom Hua's rec.) @ 4 1/2 coz it was selling at less than the book value

A@P threads used to be the greatest idea resource for a lot of great calls till A@P went private ... now, you hardly see any good calls there. Do not get me wrong, I plan to join A@P's private thread, but i would still read and post my own calls on my thread for free :)

I hope you do much better Dale. You deserve it too coz i know you have been around here for a long time.

Best Regards,

1DT

Dale, and ALL OTHERS: can yo imagine if we ALL can communicate PRIVATELY & INSTANTLY on quick day-trading ideas .. i am talking about a private messaging system with sounds and all, for free ????

I really believe in networking as it made a great deal of profit for me and others last year ... i used to have my own group of day-traders who disappeared after i left the market last year for my restaurant.

why don't we all get icq from www.icq.com and start sharing #'s?? It will really be a great gain for all of us to share trading ideas ... no oe has to follow any one, but at least we get each other's attention to big movers or big frauds INSTANTLY ... no matter how many pc screens you have, one still can not watch everything at once, but a group of many can do it and can share it all on icq or in a chat room, which i have already set up for free since last year which is empty now coz i left it last year daytraders.cjb.net
Go ahead, check it out and plz let me know what you think :)

TIME = Money and one minute can mean the difference of a lot of money gained or lost:) agree ???

best regards,
!DT

I couldnt disagree more, I have made money the last 5 years by being 85% short all the time, during a Raging Bull Mkt.many times I was 100% short.

That is my take and my outlook....

Trading against turds is the best philosophy...

many of these great companies are full of sh!t
