Thanks Z,

My guess is that if you don't remember it, then it must not have gotten very wide distribution. There are probably hundreds of regional hits from that era that never got heard outside of their immediate community. Some of them are probably quite good. Like Don't Put All Your Eggs in One Basket.....by the aforementioned Otis Smith and The All Night Workers. I wonder if Rhino has ever put together a regional 60's R&R hits album? I can think of three songs that were popular during the mid 60's in my area that could have been national hits if they were promoted and distributed like the big boys did.

Jazz and blues historians seem to have an appreciation for regional variations and artists....Chicago's urban blues....delta blues.....Kansas City's jazz etc. But regional R&R hits and groups seem to be comparatively ignored and un-mined?

With the repetitive nature of most of the oldies format playlists on radio the past 30 years...it would be refreshing to hear music from that era that I (we) haven't heard to the point of boredom.

The British Walkers sound familiar....do you remember any of their work?
