You wouldn't have to wield your power with a heavy hand. As in this case, you could wait for things to get out of hand, and then issue the P.I.-kissoff. Except now the kissoff would have, er, bite.

Unless you're afraid that much power might prove corruptive. <g>

Okay, alternate idea: we could add to thread bloat by discussing whether a certain individual should be kicked off the thread. In fact, we could issue a thread survey! (Using an auxiliary thread for replies, of course, lest we upset the search engine.)

I agree with your concern about consolidating power in the hands of one person. After all, we all know how crotchty you can get with certain females.

Nevertheless, if you based judgements on thread consensus, especially among the elders it could work just fine.
