When talking about the Casio QV 3000 EX and Canon S20, that come with 16M CF but have an option for Micro drive, their comment is "without Microdrive I do not recommend this camera." Well, you could buy a lot better camera for that extra ?$350. Now you are talking about a $1000 instead of $650 camera. And what do you get for that money? Lets say you spend $100 on a CF card instead. Now you can store 100 or so of your best pictures, ,probably equivalent to 400 or 500 normal pictures of which the majority are not worth keeping, a more robust camera whose batteries will last longer, and $250 in your pocket. Doesnt seem like a hard choice to me! Joe

Sunny, yuck! I wonder who writes this stuff. I can't imagine why anyone would want the inconvenience of carrying around lots and lots of extra batteries to power the Microdrive when a simple CF card is all it takes to handle the extra capacity. As to the rating of the Sony camera itself, any evaluation worth its salt will COMPARE features of competing cameras. Resolution in pixels is just one factor. How about the lens quality and sharpness, as well as the lens speed? How about the performance of the camera in various shooting situations, such as sports, indoors, with and without flash? Without detailed comparisons, any rating in my view is worthless.
