Re: But why label his statement ignorant and biased, rather than ask for support of his view, or a basis of his assumption?

Joe,

My state just elected a governor from the Reform party.

We didn't elect the Republican because of his stance on "social" issues.

We didn't elect the Democrat because we are one of the top 5 taxed states in the US and are sick of mismanagement of our money.

In his campaign, our governor used this phrase to represent his views, "keep the Democrats out of your boardroom, keep the Republicans out of your bedroom".

I don't think my views are biased because I support neither the Democrats, the Republicans, or the Reform party.

I think the Democrats have historically mismanaged money. It doesn't mean they are dumb, or don't understand what they are doing. Both parties seem to have different agendas and means when it comes to handling our money.

I'd rather have a Republican making our important economic decisions.

chic

PS- I know this doesn't clearly explain my position, but it's way too complex of an issue to get into, and IMHO, I'm not going to change anyones mind, but this basically explains it.

Jozef,

OT,

re:"chic presented his assumption without explaining basis for his assumption. You disagreed, without presented any support either. So you have a disagreement. But why label his statement ignorant and biased, rather than ask for support of his view, or a basis of his assumption?"

Well, lets just say ole chic had made the following statement:

" I find that most of the important economic decisions are made by jews".

Perhaps then folks could have understood my response that such a statement was ignorant and biased. I see no major difference in the degree of ignorance between both statements although the latter is racially biased as well.

Frankly i find it appalling/troubling that a well educated, intelligent young man, working for a major US company could concievably believe that folks who happen to have differing political views/preferences were somehow intellectually inferior.

And before making the statement that I did, i clarified that the statement had not been made in jest.

regards,

Kash
