The best is yet to come when they've been delivering chips for a year and have had some time to tweak and toy with the process I think AMD has been tweaking the Dresden process for a while now. They have not been in any hurry to start repaying the construction loans and Fab25 has been producing sufficient "classic Athlon" to seed the market. The Athlon brand has now achieved the acceptance needed for real volume sales of Duron and Tbird. This is the moment to exploit the Dresden capacity. We often talk about Intel dropping the ball, but let's also give credit where it is due. AMD's timing on this has been truly superb.

Chic Re..<<<<<There was no specific chip mentioned in the rumor, but it HAD to be the t-bird. It was a pure rumor, take it for what it's worth. <<<<<<< Chic,, How strong was the rumor, and have you heard anything since? Did you hear rumor first or scond hand? <<<<IBM has claimed this over and over at many different times in many different sources. <<<<<< Do you have any internal knowledge that their claims are correct? The reason I ask is that Kevin and Kash and others have dismissed the claims in the german article. I feel that the IBM rumors along with others seem to verify that something is up; and the german article fits in with the other rumors. Being the source of some of the rumors, what is your take? True or false?
