Re: "As I've stated before (you must have missed it) I'm authorized for 115 call contracts and am maxed out. I'm only authorized to buy puts, not to sell them (yet).....
How can a 23 year old punk go from being a novice with no experience to being an expert with 5 years of experience in 3 months?"

I guess I did miss it. You're light years ahead of where I was at 23. Best of luck to you.

Chic,

OT

Speaking of Option authorizations, I just found out that the lame DLJ Direct doesn't allow the buying and selling of calls in an IRA account, only covered calls. I guess I will have to move my account. Any suggestions for a more flexible discount brokers?

Joe

Chic,

re: 23 and retirement.

I commend you on your balls to the wall strategy.

When I was 23 I had no idea about stocks and investments (and that wasn't THAT long ago - i'm only 42).

For most people your strategy is INSANE, but at your age and as long as you are prepared to lose everything - its a great strategy.

BTW- I suspect the $$$ number you have in mind for retirement is WAY too low.

But i still commend you on your approach.

regards,

Kash

How much experience does your broker demand in order to be able to write options?

I personally can only buy options not write them. I don't know the limit that I am authorized for because my broker never sent me anything saying there is a limit. The real limit in my case is my margin limit.
