815 pre-production performance is WAY better than Via-PC133 chipset. If we call MHz and platform as two legs, we are running on one leg now (still winning but just not quite convincingly).

Steve, to paraphrase Chevy Chase, Rambus is our friend, and Via isn't. I think Via is too busy building PC133 cumine chipsets. Mercifully, there's more than one alternative in the works- AMD, Micron, ALi, SiS- somebody in there ought to be able to get a decent DDR memory controller out. It could even be Via, eventually, thought they haven't done much to inspire confidence of late.
