Well, I've been lied to a lot with respect to computers.....most recently this evening. It's a good thing I'm mild mannered. The issue now is, I've been in the position of running W2K long enough that I'm not about to reverse and wait. I'm so busy, I cannot take the time to screw around any longer. I've been out of the market for two weeks. Today, I ran down to a shop and dropped off a machine, telling them to drop in a 56K Modem and give it back to me at the end of the day. The guy laughed at me...a compleat moron. Just last week I dropped money on a Zip drive (which we installed), over the years I've bought full computers, various pieces of hardware.....this time I just did not want to deal with unbuttoning a machine and throwing in a card. Yet this mook thought dropping in a modem card was too tough. After all the stuff I bought from this guy......he treats me like a lesser mook. I cannot even find an idiot. This place in Montclair, New Jersey, charged me 50 bucks to unbutton a box and slide in a card. Of course, they never bothered to make certain the card worked. Mag, tell me....what the heck is going on? I cannot find an honest guy in this business. I'm running 24/7 trying to get my own systems up and so I drop a machine off with Daffy Duck just to get her machine to hook up to the Internet and Cretin suddenly becomes an honorable word. ARGH...........Sorry for the outburst. I just am not comfortable dealing with fools. These days, it appears they are having a convention on my lawn. Anyway, I was told that Win 98 would not run d proc's. so like an idiot I went with that. Thank God the freakin' stock (MSFT) went up today........that paid for a world of sheer fury. People of Irish descent tend to express their anger subtly, as a rule. I'm one of those few people who are less inhibited by social mores'. In other words, I'm more ticked off than the average Mick....You do not wish to meet a P.O.'ed Mick. It's not a pretty sight.
