Actually, I don't consider APWR a rule breaker type stock. It fits into a formula for success for new companies: (1) skilled management with a track record (a pilot operation existed for many years before the IPO); (2) proprietary technology with strong patent protection; and (3) ability to generate positive cash flow during a period of great expansion, minimizing the need for issuing additional shares that would dilute earnings per share. Furthermore, if you look at the increase in book value per share over the last three years, you'll find it exceeds 100 percent a year. For new, fast growing companies, this is a better measure of performance than price-earnings ratio, as it deals with the creation of shareholder wealth.
