James, Thanks for Alen Benn's post on optical switching. It is one of the best analysis I have ever seen. Very provocative thoughts there. Especially edge access.

I agree completely with his thesis that the future of optical switching is inextricably linked to reading the address on the packet. This is the function of a router, and cannot be done by dumb switch.

For more on the router market, here is an except from George Gilder. Bottom line - the router market is exploding, not imploding.

Hi Peg, Good day today. I just exited a swing position on cien at my target of 165 5/8 for a nice short term profit. Also entered brcm on a breakout at 188.

Nas has resistance at ~ 3930 and may double-top short term.

I picked up this post on Frank Coluccio's thread. I agree with his analysis, and I would like you to pass this to your friend for his input.

One of the things that stand out in Allen's message is the incredible prospects at the edge, ie CoreDirector, 10 G Ethernet, rbak, brcm etc. This is a truly staggering market and ripe with opportunity. Start digging. You come up with any worms, save them for my next fishing trip.

Jack
