GSM and GPRS contracts for Nokia in France.

press.nokia.com
press.nokia.com

Two press releases from Nokia providing information on contracts to upgrade existing GSM networks and add GPRS.

Notwithstanding the howl from the QCOMM longs, the GSM networks around the world seem to continue to invest more money in these networks.

Maurice - I suggest reading more carfully before firingoff a response. We were talking about phones not chips.

The bulk of the phone numbers your friend sent to you were based on MSM chip sales to manufacturers , the majority of phones being manufactured in Asia not by Qualcom .I suggest also looking at the difference in the meaning of the words chips (MSMs) and phones and the fact that I was talking about Qualcomms (yearly) production capacity for phones (PDQ etc) not chips. Making the point that QCOM makes chips and NOK phones.

qualcomm.com

(Note that Kycoera hopes to produce 16 million by 2001
about 3 months of Nokia's production)

However if it WAS Qualcomm produced phones you were talking about then I guess since Qcom is producing 80+ million PHONES (more than NOK, or MOT of ERIC) , in a secret phone factory that they have kept silent from the public (that
sale of the phone division to Kycoera was a good smoke screen)then I agree I was out of date.
