Excellent post. Thank you for posting the Bloomberg article--which is by far the most informative I've seen. Now it's just a question of how quickly Infante and her team can demonstrate that Aspect will surpass expectations for Qtrs. 3 and 4. Has she got some significant news to announce during the quarterly cc?

I'm still concerned about the cash position dropping in one quarter by $100 million--by 33%. Has anyone verified the drop from reported first quarter number?

Thanks

Yes, MeDroogies, I like the way Beatriz maturely took full responsibility as the CEO for the shortfall, even though it is very likely that her lack of visibility for the shortfall could have been entirely due to the lack of credibility of those in charge of the US regional territory and those in charge of the Federal sales territory.

If I were a regional sales manager in a company (my former professional background is in software development & marketing, BTW), I, too, would be inclined to optimistically forecast to upper mgmt that I will close deals by each quarter-end. Sometimes large software deals are hard to pin down.

I have faith that Beatriz will turn things around. This dent in ASPT's market cap is significant and I'm sure she doesn't want this to happen again.

It is also interesting to read the various media reports on ASPT's debacle today, knowing what I do about the company. If I didn't understand the company as well as I do, I, too, would think that there are big problems with this company, given the superficial coverage we see in the media.

For example, CNBC statements like, "Sales in hardware division are slowing faster than expected" doesn't convey the point that we all know: The company has been expecting to transition to a software company and merely maintain the legacy hardware component of the business.

The statements I hear on CNBC about the hardware division sound like this poor company is saddled with an obsolete proprietary hardware product and is not proactively re-inventing itself, which couldn't be farther from the truth.

MeDroogies...

>>I'm going out on a limb and saying - it's time to buy ASPT again.<<

I agree. For every seller there is a buyer. I doubled up yesterday so by definition I am one of the buyers.
