Isn't it more likely that AMD will ship between 60 and 80 million total K7 and above next year? The way things are going they might make 10 million in the 4th quarter this year. Just wondering if I am the only one thinking this?

If VIA does not see it then maybe AMD is better of without VIA otherwise they just need some breathing room.

Agreed. I think AMD would have been better off with no partner than with someone who pretends to be your partner.
