Mike,
In all of the past posts regarding a Memorial, I believe is was clear that all but the Hunger site, which was to be directly linked to SI, were simply suggestion.

When the suggestions were posted, nobody came forward and added or commented about any other possibilities, either publicly or by PM.

I have no skills in designing this program. I just think out loud.

There are but a few areas that Neenny and I thought were appropriate for Memorial funds to be directed. And let me be perfectly clear as to why those were announced......they were announced since we had and still have no idea what sums of money would be raised and we wanted some latitude in this area.

As it stands now, nearly a month after her death, we will be lucky to fund a day at an amusement park.

There is no concrete plans for the Memorial, but until somebody else comes along and can light a fire under all those who knew her.....I'll just plug along....and wait.

Checks received so far will not be cashed until a group discussion is held....most likely by way of ICQ. And if the monies gathered are as I sadly suspect they might be......those checks will simply be returned to the donors so that they can do what they choose personally.

If this doesn't get "rolling" in the next week or so. I'll simply stop the process.

You see, I find it heartbreaking to go to the mail box and only find junk mail. And I won't let this tarnish the memories I have.

I've had months when my trade commissions were over $3,000. So, I can't image for the life of me why this has paralyzed so many people. And I also don't understand why those not contributing find it necessary to come to this thread to tell us all the reasons why they will not. Why not just make a suggestion, why not send a pm with a question? Why not just let the rest of us alone.

I know one thing for sure. Monica would have been the 1st to send a check. No questions asked. And that, is the measuring stick.

Shootie

Mike, Sorry I was not aware of your new thread's existence. It has been quite some time since I checked out the new topic area.
Your idea of helping the members of SI who are in a crisis for one reason or another, is a very good one in my opinion and deserves respect and attention. Yogi
