Allocated cost for tax

From the info in 3COM investor relations, I get

.2084 X (old tax basis COMS shares) for COMS
.7916 X (old tax basis COMS shares) for PALM

based on opening prices of 13 3/8 and 33 7/8 on 7/28/2000.

Anybody get the same?
Best,
SAF

Rick:

Don't forget that cash/share and book value/share have gone down a little as a result of the dilution from employee options - 358.7 million shares basic, and 418.7 million diluted.

COMS is still worth $7/share cash, $13/share book, $23/share with sales thrown at around 1x, IMO.

" Come 1st quarter of 2001, COMS will be showing a very nice run up indeed."

Sorry but if that is the way you fell why not hold on to your cash awhile longer? Like it will probably be very bumpy till the end of august at least. Then election... I think before election is done you want to be in, because WS usually whatever the outcome breathes with relief after an election is done. I predict a good runup (from whatever level) after November 6th (??)
