Haha ted that's funny: 1) you know as well as I do that JC has probably been reading this thread for as long as you have. 2) no one is trashing the mod thread? Then what is that commentary at the end of this post about. You may claim that you weren't referring to all posters just certain ones but I think that JC could make that same claim. I am surprised to see this coming from you... youi're not normally this grumpy sounding.. as I recall.. you were one of the ones on here (this was in my lurker mode here) who didnt like the Moderated threat - er thread startup because of the so called censorship that would take place there.. (the classic American libertarian argument about protecting freedom of speech) now you're telling JC to hold his opinion on what thread he likes better? You cant have it both ways my friend.(FWIW, he's been lurking and reading here for awhile.. he's only had "posting priveleges" a week). I agree with JC - the moderated board doesnt prevent contrarian views.. it just asks you to be civil doing it.. I've not seen anyone diss Tony Viola on there - who I believe is an Intel investor but has been very courteous when he has posted. That cant be said for some on this thread. Personally. I read all AMD threads on here.. but I prefer the atmospehere and the environment on the moderated thread... and I think they have been more then fair and tolerant of people there, and those who ran afoul of the rules got reminded of this several times before action was taken on it. People have been trashing the mod thread left and right, Ted. The message I was responding to was trashing the mod thread. I didn't mean to bring you personal injury. But there is a great deal of needless conflict on this board. People go out of their way to insult others. I get pissed off reading one out of every four messages here. 25% of the time, this board ceases being SI:AMD and proceeds to become SI:ID4. And you know what? I don't have to hold my opinions of this board? Why? Because it's unmoderated. If we were on the other ("moderated") board, you could casually ask me to stop talking about this Off Topic crap, and I would. Here? I could probably flood this board with six thousand messages a day posting solely about OT. (of course, on a positive note, this would allow SI:AMD to catch up with SI:Dell in number of posts) Anyway ... I was posting against a person who very strongly hated SI:ModAMD. I wasn't trying to case SI:AMD in an extra bad light, but I was trying to point out why I think the moderated board should be given a chance. I can't believe how, once the board started, people came in and posted messages for the singular purpose of hurting the Moderator's feelings. And these were (generally) decent, intelligent people doing this, like Scumbria and possibly you, ted (not 100% sure, I may be wrongfully accusing you here, and I apologize for that). This sort of thing I cannot understand. And in conclusion, I think that everybody agrees with me when I say rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant, rant...... ;)

TIA. <<<<<< Ted, JC stated that he has been lurking on the mod thread since it started. Secondly as part of his business, he probably reads many threads in a day so he would have a better slant on the value of a certain thread. Thirdly, last night several people did criticize the thread and Mani for kicking PE of of the thread for two wks. Fourth, I agree with his criticism of the AMD Yahoo thread and its worth. The last thing we need here is a thread like that. Constructive criticism is one thing. Bashing all day long without rhyme or reason is worthless. Harry ps. A wk. ago I posted that one should wait to see what AMD DOES. Last night I reestablished some of my position at 61 3/8. Fortunately AMD has rallied so I am slightly ahead at this pt.

It sounds like you want to play moderator now, telling someone else to take their opinions elsewhere. Funny how you could put up with Paul who will swear, call people names, spread lies, mock you for your failures, or elmer who will spread fud until he's blue in the face, but you get upset at someone who suggests that some level of respect is nice to have in a messageboard. This post I'm making now, along with the one I replied to are examples as to why this thread is almost pure noise. People spend more time flaming each other than posting anything, and maybe JC has only been here a week, but the work he's done on his website and bringing information about AMD to the public is probably 2x more than anyone on this thread has ever done, and I think it says a lot about your character that you hadn't figured that out by yourself.
