One should note that the top 10% pay some 40% of taxes and if the other 90% want to keep Soc Sec they can vote to tax us. That is the one flaw in a democracy, they as a majority can vote a tax disbursement or transference of wealth if they want it. Hopefully over the next few years we can invest a portion of our SS payment in a private acct of our own. Hell just give me 20% of my payments to invest in my private retirement acct and let the other 80% go the general fund.
