The Whisper Number has outlived it's usefulness.

It is usually 1 cent higher than the consensus and only serves to artificially heighten expectations and reduce the impact of the earnings release.

I wish everyone would stop quoting whisper numbers. The media included.

So who makes up the whisper number?. This is just too much. I thought we had a great report and watched DELL go up after hours until they started their usual complaints about DELL.
