Hi Sig,

Good points but the game has changed, and Dell is not going to be part of the highest growth areas of server based computing, which are massive, upgradeable server families, from 2-way right up to 256 processor boxes...

You need R&D for that, and they do not have any..

Dell BTW has a great opportunity to sell PC's to IBM if they ever wake up..

Storage forget it, it's a high R&D area, and MSFT/INTC/Linus is NOT going to help..

It's NTAp & EMC, that's it ! Non-Commodity, high value added

I rest my case

Jean

SIG:Good common sense-the benefits of "the crafting of a true global monopoly"- to come and solid "commodity" growth could be underestimated.

Hi Sig and All,
I own Dell again. I never believed it would dip back under 50 and so sold Aug 50 puts for $4. I was about to buy them back for 3x that but Brown just called me and announced that my buyer had exercised. So I now own 500 shares of DELL at $46 (paid $50, got $4 for the put).
Now I expect all you fine DELL people to get the stock back to 50 pronto.

Dell's R&D expenditures have been increasing. That is one of the reasons, we have less than stellar profits.
