thecalculator, I very much appreciate your insight into TSEM.. was wondering what solid technical info you've found thus far on microFLASH, a cornerstone it appears of the company's future. I've noticed that TSEM currently derives 5% of it's revenue stream from the technology. Any insight into what products currently contain the technology?

My assumption, which is probably incorrect, is that the technology will only truly come to fruition when smaller geometries are used, such as 0.18 and below, which I'll also assume aren't capable in Tower's Fab1?

Sorry SNDK folks if this seems a bit off topic.

All the best, docpaul

Selective quoting is not very healthy, from the same piece:

"We don't have any 'take-or-pay' arrangements, so it minimizes our risk during a downturn," Eichler said. And the company has been guaranteed space in the fab when the market tightens, he noted."

Guess who takes on the risk during a downturn of operating a $1 B fab at less than full capacity? TSEM, of course. And the problem I cited is the timing, the fab will open, unfortunately, in the middle of the next "downturn".
