Hi Steve,

FWIW, There are different levels of membership on SI. You can have a profile and not have the right to post. So maybe your friend doesn't have a full membership. Or maybe they have a full membership but elected to have the PM feature turned off.

I have sent PM's to several of my buddies that have never posted on SI.

Hi Grabber, I assume that you went to the PeopleMarks, then clicked upon the name of the person in question. There should be a display for sending a private message at the top of the profile page.

I've also sent PM's to people that haven't ever posted, so there must be something else going on here.
