If you feel that Palm has won the game, so be it. Whoa. I never said that! It's still the early stages. I am betting on PALM, and for the sake of my investment I sure as heck hope THEY don't think they've already won the game! I've seen Palm's latest 2 model offerings: But you haven't seen what's in the pipeline... ;-) The thrust of my argument is that Palm can have the low-end PDA product line. Golly, I hope so! That's where the revenue is! Tons and tons of revenue. I want these things to become consumer items as common as toothbrushes, and that means they need to be cheap and as idiot-proof as possible. I want them to be so simple and non-obtrusive that my 86 year old grandma can "beam" me. I'm also glad you brought up RIMM; there other players in the game, and while I don't think it is likely it is possible that someone else may end up stealing this prize from both contenders. Ad, I don't think we're in particularly violent disagreement here.

advalorem, Good thread, and thanks for starting. Palm user here (Vx) using a CDMA mobile as a modem. Very satisfied with Palm, but always shopping. I am somewhat surprised that Psion, EPOC, and Symbian, have gotten little mention on this thread. I suspect that when I replace my current Palm it will probably be with either a Psion device, or the EPOC OS integrated into a mobile or wireless device (although all are somewhat more GSM-centric at this point in time). When it was released, the Psion 5 was supposed to have a CDMA modem, out there in the not to distant future. Actually at close to 2 pounds the Series 5 might be a bit hefty to be classified as a PDA, but certainly the Revo Plus is not. << The Palm Vx runs about $400, and the Palm IIIC runs about $400. The RIMM model runs about $400-$500, and the HWP/Casio/Compaq models run about $500.>> The Revo Plus is priced equivalent to a IIIc or Vx.
