I would add that most state government employees have their own plans too and are not participants in social security. So the upshot is that the governing class - which should know social security best - has uniformly opted out.

Solid.....sorry to hear that you've been banned. I hate the idea of a moderated thread the same way I've never felt all that great about exclusive clubs (whether I'm on the inside or outside) It's his party, so I guess he can do what he wants. I know I've said more than a few things in a PM to Ah that would get me banned almost anywhere!

I'm fresh outta ideas to get this dog of a stock off the floor. Perhaps this is a sure sign of a bottom. Lots of towels all over the place. It's a hate-able company for me at this point. It is a good sign that Mr.Rogers thinks enough of ATHM to put his cold hard cash in on the open market. Growing the subs isn't enough in the long term but it might reestablish some faith in management if they can at least live up to that 3 mil goal but what they really need to do is get off the pie in the sky ideas about how they are going to make money. It's time to answer the question "where is the beef?".

Frank C's suggestion Message 14461986 that T might be doing an end run around ATHM with their STBs gives me pause precisely because I thought exactly the same thing myself while reading some of the latest press releases from Ma T. You know Cox and Comcast have to be thinking along the same lines. But then....
