OOh, one earing might be cool in a singles bar but not so much in your profession. Sorry you lost the one.

We have a cold front sliding down, thanks Crok, and it will get plenty cold. Before seeing the yellow or red leaves I notice the leaves on the willows get smaller. When the willow leaves get smaller they will drop off faster when the willows get cut for duck blinds. I'm starting to babble aren't I?

my one-earring collection

Pardon my bachelor-driven ignorance, but are earrings
ever sold in 3s so that a spare is available? I remember
in earlier more practical times that men's suits could be
purchased with an extra pair of trousers to extend the
suit's life, as Ish can likely testify to. And there were
boys' jeans with tear-away knee patches.

So I am adding the one I have left to my
one-earring collection, which I maintain out of optimism - some day I may find one of
the mates, you never know.

Just hang in there. The way women's fashions go, before too long the one-earring, or mis-matched earrings, look will be in. And you will be SO prepared for it.

Hey- I have a collection just like yours!! Do you think I could possibly own the doubles to yours? Maybe earrings are like socks that disappear in the dryer-- traveling to a parallel earring universe.

My mom-in-law puts a back on the earrings that are just the gold wires to keep them from falling through the black hole of jewelry. I am too lazy, and like to think that I don't need to be so controlling, that my earrings will choose to remain with me out of love. Sometimes though, they can't resist the lure of the unknown and, like yours, slip away..
