Jim, I think Mustang might turn out to be very, very fast indeed. I mean IPC here. If it slams P4 on most benchmarks, I believe the "clock speed" argument can be overcome. Doug

Jim <You have every reason to fear P4> I know, that's why I bought INTC today. I think AMD has a couple good quarters left and some people here better not stay on the boat too long. Paul is absolutely right about PIV, and the fact that PIII won't be around to compare. That is also why I think Jerry is trying to make every penny he can, to take advantage of bonuses before he retires. Dave

AMD will be even in a better position going into Q3'01 - hint:SMP. The Mustangs/durons(or poliminos sp?) will become the most favorite processors with SMP. Use of AMD duel processor systems will become pervasive in gamers, high performance PCs, workstations, and low end server segments. Going into 2002, AMD will have Clawhammer, sledgehammer to take on Intel. AMD is going to be $7 Billion to $8 Billion(revenues) company in the year 2001, and AMD will come out of Intel shadow in a big way with accompanying higher share price. goutama
