TTOSBT,

<<What is the percentage of people who own pc's to those who do not (and never have) owned a pc?

What is the percentage of people who never want to own a pc compared to the people who do not own one today?

<<What is the percentage of people who own pc's to those who own pencils, pens and type-writers?

What is the percentage of people who own an auto to those who own a pair of shoes, bicycles and horse saddles?

<<No wonder the pc ever grew with all the hasbeens clinging to the "old ways"

A hasbeen is a hasbeen. The massive expansion of BW TV in the 50's didn't prevent the conversion to color in the 60's or the conversion to cable in the '80s. What was it they told Ted Turner about being crazy to pursue cable TV?

<<The market manipulator's will say/do almost anything to improve their profits!

And so will those on this thread who hype a stock at 120 which now sits at half that price. It would be nice if real investment advice came back to this thread; do you have any to offer? Where is Valley Girl when you need her; pro-MSFT yet level-headed about its situation.

<<The phrase: "the pc is dead" died the other day when it's advocate -IBM reported an increase in it's pc sales.

Oh, the PC is quite dead; in ten years it will be sold next to the token stereo turntables at Circuit City. One of my cars still has the original 8-track; it also has a very nice cassette stereo which should now be replaced by a nice CD player. Analog was doing so well yet the digital CD just came along and cut them off at the knees. People were happy with cassettes why should we have tried for something better?

Cheers,

Norm
