Thanks Pete.

Guess I'll live dangerously and cancel my sell order.

Tbird is rumored to 1.8GHz on 0.18u, and Mustang will be faster on the same process possibly to 2GHz on 0.18u

err, is there some typo in that sentence? that's mas o menos what I expect for .13u

1.8 GHz on .18u sounds arch exaggerated.
...maybe nitro-cooled

Does Scumbria really think like you on that?

Max

Re: "Scumbria and I believe that the double pumped stages (now possibly nine up from two before out of 28) will limit its ultimate speed. "

This is an interesting idea, I have not heard this before. Not to claim anyone here has a bias, :-), but is there any technical discusion of this possibiltiy you could give me a link to?

Pete,

<Tbird is rumored to 1.8GHz on 0.18u, and Mustang will be faster on the same process possibly to 2GHz on 0.18u. >

Where do you get these rumors? How do you fall for crap like this?

<In late October of 1999, many of those thought that it would take until Q4 of 2001 to get to 1GHz about 8 months or 3 times longer than it really took. >

Anyone reading this thread in mid-1999 would have known/guessed 1G would happen in H1 2000.
