Ever see white eggplants still on the plant? They do look
like "egg plants", they're de-e-licious and they're easier

This one is was written by someone with even less knowledge of English than me (which is very little indeed). The root of amends is amend - a very common word. You can amend something (fix it) or you can make amends (fix multiple things).
