Re: "Coppermine < Thunderbird < Tualatin < Mustang <= P4 <= Hammer.

But by the time Sludgepumper is out, P4 will have migrated to .13u as well. You left that out. With 2GHz expected on .18u, .13u should be very exciting.

Re: "Unfortunatelly, as far as Piii family, the most optimistic scenario is that .13u Tualatin will at best keep up with .18u Mustang core. When Mustang goes to .13u, Tualatin will strictly become a Celeron."

You haven't seen the most optimistic scenario.

Jozef,

We may be digressing from my original intent.
I was trying to get an idea of how the .13 process for AMD and Intel stack up at this point. One would expect AMD to be leading Intel on .13, given that the copper is no more an unknown to AMD and Intel still has to deal with it in .13.

However, given that Tualatin is on .13 and sledgehammer will not be on .13 until after Tualatin, suggest to me that a) either AMD is behind Intel on .13 or b) Intel is taking a lot of risk on .13 with Tualatin.

Now, in response to your response, I agree with your order upto P4 :
Coppermine < Thunderbird < Tualatin < Mustang <= P4

However, P4 <= Hammer may be 'fuzzy math' IMHO! McKinley/Montecito will make it fuzzier. Too many risks and unknowns with Hammer and IA-64 to be high volume anytime soon.

Maui.
