Hi Steve,
There is no annual fee at American Express. Whatever gave you that idea?
The rules are very simple. The first ten trades every month are free. After that they are 19.95. I would have to do 23 trades in one month before it caught up to Waterhouse's Fee schedule.
IMO 23 trades a month is approaching Daytrader status and I feel it is excessive. I can't remember a single month where I have executed more than 10 trades but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened.
In any event the the most important point I want to make is that there is no fee in dealing with American Express.
Bernie

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the help.
RE: Risk Management
I sometimes look at where Total Return and ROCAR are still gaining while average amt. invested starts to plateau. That always seems to be a good break point for where I should stop tinkering!
