At some point, we will have candidates talk about global population growth as the big issue for the environment. Even though cutting back the number of people by say....60% would be good, it's got a lot of emotional baggage with it. As regards Al and the environment, it would have been nice if he and Bill had insisted that developing nations adhere to the same environmental standards that we are supposed to follow. For example, if in China or India a 50 factories or power plants are built that spew out junk, they get in the "habit" of building those things, and habits are tough to break. Then what are they supposed to do in 10 years, decommision them? That's another pain in the butt. Better to do things right the first time. I am afraid Gore does not get an environmental gold star from me. I also read, (would be nice if I saved the link) about Gore proposing to reduce cow fart emissions. Clinton actually had to stop Gore from penning a proposal. Too bad, if cows farted less, we could fart more, huh?
