i agree and support the notion that everyone should be able to vote and that ballots should be clear and easily understood.

my wife and i voted and never gave a second thought to the ballot design. they were clear to us.

today's palm beach post reports that:
a voter suit has asked for a new election.
demos are sending elections lawyers throughout the state.
a vice-chairman of gore's florida campaign predicted more litigation today.
the premise continues to be that buchanan got more votes than he should have.

a local demo politician is pushing it. his argument is that county independent party registrations are only about 400...i repeat however, that in the last election, the independent party got 5x more votes than it did this time.

shucks, i wonder why they did not complain then...

i wonder if a revote would be demanded if this was a republican majority county.

this would constitute strong evidence that the average person was subtly misdirected into thinking that they had correctly marked their choice.

Sorry, but I don't buy it. That comes under the category so prevalent in our society of "It's not my fault. Someone or something else made me do it." Ater publishing the ballot for anyone to study at their own convenience for as long as they want and after providing a sample ballot at the precinct, it boggles the mind that anyone would think that a ballot with two votes wouldn't be invalidated or that someone else should be blamed for punching the wrong hole. As some are prone to say, democracy is a responsibility. Knowing how to cast a vote is part of the individual's responsibility.

This would be a conclusion impossible to refute in the face of thousands of such spoiled ballots.

No conclusion based on opinion is impossible to refute.
