Tony,

On the news today(FoxNews or MSNBC), it came out that there was a Republican county with 20,000 votes w/o a selection for President. Whether the machine didn't pick it up or there really was no selection is not known. But apparently there is a 72 hour rule which has passed meaning that they cannot now ask for a handcount there.

I think it unfair if Gore gets a recount in 4 heavily Dem counties and Bush cannot ask for a handcount.

Tony,
Just heard this: The Bush campaign has file a request in federal court asking for an injunction that would stop the hand count which is already in progress. Just heard the details of their request to the Federal judge on CNN.
They are asking for 1. the hand count to cease, 2. the results of the recount to be released and certified by FL, and more. They cite irreparable harm to the voters and to the Republican ticket will ensue if the results of the hand count are released to the public. They go on to give all the reasons why but I can't recall the details. There is more but I didn't get it all. Going off to find more details.

They are asking a lot and if granted this can be appealed to the Appelate Court and even all the way to the Supreme Court quickly. That might be it. If not granted, and this goes on, then the arguments can go on and on and on and on - until we finally find out what the meaning of "is" is.

We are now in uncharted territory.

Barry

RE:"It would be ridiculous to allow recount only in heavy democratic counties. That could only add votes to Gore and probably swing the election WRONGLY. Can't believe Bush's camp isn't bringing this out. Maybe they are, well, you know..."

The latest here is that the counters are asking the observers for advice on ballots. In one precinct, Gore has made up 19 votes. If this continues for the whole county Gore will win by a couple thousand.
Like I said, the Democrats are trying to steal the election. If they are going to hand count they should hand count the whole state.
All we have now is clever Lawyers...
I'm ashamed to live in such a county of whiners...
