How about these names: Kennedy, Jefferson, Franklin I thought about Kennedy, but I felt that Kennedy's term was too short to achieve greatness. A great speaker and the moon shot helped unite the country but wasn't a commercial sucess,Mafia investigations started but not finished were all good, but the bay of pigs, involvement in Vietnam, and his philandering didn't help. Frankly I forgot about Jefferson, and his philandering wasn't well known, and philandering wasn't thought of as a major vice back then. I am not really against Bill for his philandering, as much as I am against all of his denials, legal manuvering and blaming the other guy when he got caught. Bill let his conceit get the best of him, Conceit in that he thought he could cover up every thing if he was slippery enough. If he just would have admitted it when he got caught,and not ruined his last 3 yrs of his presidency, he could have been thought of as a great leader. Not by me because of his money raising scandals,but most would. Colin Powell was too timid to help Sarajevo, and Dick Cheney is a major do-nothing kind of guy. Colin wasn't in a position to help Sarajevo. The Chief of Staff is subversive to the president. George Bush didn't have the necessary political and world wide backing to do anything about Sarajevo. If took Bill 6 yrs to get the political muscle to do anything about Yugoslavia. I am sure that if Cheney was a democrat, you would be singing his praises, just like you do for Bill and Al. Being a democrat is not the only qualifier for being great. The Roosevelt I mentioned was Franklin, but I should have included Teddy.
