I believe Texas still has more electoral votes than Florida, something like 30 to 25, unless that's been changed. Re: Republican mayor in LA, that's a non sequitir since we were talking about representation in statewide and countrywide elections. In city elections, the votes are tallied up in total, not one vote per precinct or ward.

All this talk about abolishing the EC is just
a big Dem wet dream. I predict that in the Senate
the fight for keeping the EC will be led by
Democratic Senator Robert Byrd from West Virginia.
