While I like many of Day's fiscal initiatives, his social policy scares the hell out of me. Day has been groomed by the Alberta Conservatives in the past few years to make a run at being Prime Minister. His personal right-wing rhetoric was toned down big time at he eased into the provincial scene, and is down right placating now that he is in the national scene. I see the hand of Rod Love all over him, just as it was in the case of Ralph Klein. Day has been a project over the past several years and Love must be loving the fruit of his labor today.
