Give me a break. The Eisenhower administration had us in at the level of one toenail, which is not a commitment. Level heads could easily have walked away. Unfortunately we have had a shortage of level heads in Washington. Kennedy made the decision for real commitment by the US, as in up to our waist (like in wading through swamps). Johnson decided we needed a full body commitment, and did we ever get it. Edit: Actually we can thank the French for talking the Ike into getting into their mess. That whole section of the Asian continent was once a French colony.

The liberal media has worked long and hard to Quayle-ize GWB, and to an extent it has worked. You can bet that if McCain were the candidate, he would have been Quayle-ized along slightly different lines: shell-shock, post traumatic stress syndrome, anger management problems. 85% of the media vote Democrat, this activity is their favorite sport. Bush's grades at Yale were better than Al (Lovestory) Gore's were at Harvard, GWB finished his graduate work at HBS, while Gore is a law school dropout (he learned just enough to be dangerous, imho). Al refused to talk to the media for 4 months during his campaign, and got a free pass. Michael, you have to re-analyze your data feed, that's all I'm saying.
