Dear bigsablepoint: I find your comment incredible. Here in S. Fla. we have partisans DIVINING voter INTENT through DIMPLES AND PIMPLES yet a clearly executed paper ballot lacking ONLY a postmark because the ship or base failed to stamp the mail (a very normal circumstance) in your mind should not be counted.
I am a combat vet, I can tell you right here and now, THIS ALONE will insure that GORE will NEVER lead our armed services. In fact, if I were him, I would be careful to NEVER even go near a base. It might be dangerous.
You think these people are dummies with no feelings of their own? Think again. Now Gen'l Schwartzkopp is upset, let me tell you something, if that fellow ever says, enough of this I AM TAKING OVER, you can kiss your democracy GOODBYE. Who the hell do you think could stop him--YOU, I bet you havent got the balls to even point a gun at someone. I have, and I WILL. JDN

The military does not postmark a ballot with a date. Federal Law does not require this. Individuals in the military can easily be contacted and their information verified. Other civilians who knows.

If you have any knowledge of how the Military works then applying technicalities used on civilians is wrong. A service man or woman is governed by military laws and vote fraud would result in extremely harsh punishment far worst than whatever a civilian would face. In the Military no lawyer will get you off and you don't get a jury.

A simple volunteered oath to validate the facts of compliance is all I would require of a soldier and then count the ballot.

I filled out this ballot and placed it in the Military mail system by ...... date. Signed and witnessed.

So I do not think the individuals in the Military would attempt to cheat. It's a hundred times more likely that someone in the military would announce publicly that they are gay. So if you want to treat those who put their lives with no extra ordinary care. On the line so you and I can
have this discussion, my only question is. Are you an American? Or are you a just don't get it American?
