Jim,

I've heard interviews refuting all those charges as well. This is the ultimate fertile ground for new urban legends, because everybody is so prepared to believe the worst.

The best possible outcome would be for the recounts to continue, and for Bush to win. That's the only way that one side won't feel that they were robbed. Any other outcome leaves 50% of the country dissatisfied.

Jim,

There was one report on TV (I don't know what channel) that when the workers came to work in the morning, they found Bush votes on Gore pile that were not there the night before when the counters left. And the person who pointed it out was actually a Democrat, so not apparently not all the Democrats are part of the team of 500 volunteer liars (I mean lawyers) Gore was recruiting.

But it also shows that the people who are supposed to maintain security over the location may be corrupt.

RE: "they are not being counted honestly."

cnn.com (11/18/president.election/index.html)

Take a look at that picture. You'll see the Chairman of Palm Beach's canvassing board has two lawyers on each side: one a Republican and one a Democrat.

Both lawyers (Rep & Dem) are reviewing his ballots, which are the questionable ballots.

Also, from SJMN, "For now, only thoroughly punched holes count as votes. Ballots with partial - or hanging - chads will be examined later by the board."

Note: this is the same board (i.e. PB canvassing board) where you see the Republican lawyer watching the ballot and is involved in the process. All 3 of these people appear to be in agreement (so far).

I believe Gore's campaign manager would WANT a Republican lawyer to see and approve each and every questionable ballot (i.e. all ballots which were not thoroughly punched), so there is no doubt.

Regards,
Amy J
