OT

My business gives me the opportunity to speak to many people over seas, as well as people in the rural areas of the US. Although growing up in the military establishment gives you a view of us civi's as "Not knowing what we are doing", what I like to point out to both people overseas, as well as those rather conservative folk in rural US, is this:

Not one democrat or republican has been killed let alone shot at or physically threatened in this election. No chief of staff or general has suggested that the army take over. I think that although it is certainly slow, cumbersome and frustrating for this election to work its way through the myriad of legal maneuvering, the fact that it has been peaceful and working via the legal system says more for what our country stands for than anything else that this country could do or say. In other words, we be walking our talk.

Now you may go back to your regularly scheduled program.

Jeff

OT - John - re <<...rather inept U.S. government.>> Actually, the US Government has nothing to do with it. It would seem that the State of Florida may need to standardize their requirements by adapting a more modern machine for recording votes. The best I've seen so far is right here in Nevada (sorry Virginia). No "chards" (dimpled or otherwise) to deal with, thus no need for someone to have to guess how you wanted to vote. Regards, Bigcue
