that the vote of a serviceman, however much we appreciate him, is worth more than the vote of a blue-haired lady really offends me.

Of course not. But there is a major difference.

That "blue-haired lady" (Blue?) has the ability to have a poll worker assist here in properly completing the ballot. She also has the ability to ask for a replacement ballot if she screws up.

The military member is stuck on the DMZ in Korea, or in a tent city in Bosnia/Kosovo, or on a ship sailing the ocean blue, and has to rely on getting it right the FIRST TIME and hoping that the military postal system will get it there on time.

Of course, those "blue-haired REPUBLICAN ladies" in Duval county sure don't count as much as the democratic ones in Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, and Broward, do they?... :0) Otherwise, Gore would have demanded a STATE WIDE recount from day one.

And they sure didn't care about the ones in many other states either.

Regards,

Ron

Karen, I don't care if an old bat messes up her vote. I do care if there is an effort to deny members of the armed forces of their right to vote. Hundreds of thousands of young men never had a chance to grow old because they gave their lives for our country. Go to a veterans cemetery sometime and reflect upon the sacrifices they made. The democrats made a big mistake in messing with the military vote - this goes way beyond party lines. It's a matter of honor, respect and gratitude. Have you seen "Saving Private Ryan" for most it was a movie but for some it was the real horror of war. Mike
