I'm enthused about the prospects of the Democratic Party. Nowhere to go but up.

If you work for, or depend on government. Or work within the "right" industry. You may be right, and Orwell early but correct.

Of course that is the conclusion you would reach. It's your value system that prevents you from seeing all other choices.

Let me tell you this, the statistics are what they are, and the data suggest exactly what I stated, the relative constancy of the voting for democrats is as clear as reality can get. The % of the electorate who sees the political parties as little better than thieves is in direct opposition to your conclusions.

No Flapjack, we have more data to support the premise that the Zenith has come and soon you and yours will be gone.

Hegemony is the root of all evil, and we the NVM will have our say, that you and yours act so irresponsibly in the face of us defines your arguments and exposes the truth about you. Move over baby, your next door neighbor is likely to be one of us.

Again, somehow you manage to say precisely the opposite of the truth. It was widely assumed that the Republicans would suffer a backlash for the impeachment effort, and that Gore would ride a strong economy into the White House. Merely given the structure of the seats up for grabs, everyone knew that the Republicans were likely to narrow their majority, and possibly lose one house of Congress. Even those impressed with the weakness of Gore in trial balloons considerably ahead of the election expected the race to tighten up by election day.............
