<ot>Hi Rashomon - there is no doubt my port has suffered greatly, but fwiw, it is incorrect to say "the two-county hand counts" since PB County manual recount was tossed out [right or wrong is besides the point.]

Actually, the congressional GOP has a lot to do with VP Gore persistence. Just as the rank and file Democrats [not democrat voters] were about to go soft, the Republicans sent out their Delays and Lotts to rally the opposite side. IMHO, both sides are not shooting straight.

best, Bosco

I assume I speak only for myself when I say -- I'm sick to death of both Gore and Bush being compared by their supporters to the likes of JFK and Ronald Reagan. Nothing could be further from the truth imo. Indeed, the more this election mess continues, the more I realize how pitiful our choices actually were on Nov 7. I am a practicing Republican, and IMO Gore would make an extremely poor President, particularly since now he'd wrongly believe he has a "mandate" from the people (a plurality does not make a mandate). Little does he realize that half the country (or maybe more than half) actually despises him. Bush, on the other hand, is all hat and no cattle. His ability to be a good "leader" is very suspect. Indeed, he has done absolutely nothing so far to demonstrate his leadership abilities through this entire mess (it says something when Gore appears more the "leader" than Bush -- taking personal control of post-election strategy [as wrong-headed as it may be] as George W. continuously defers to "our folks in Florida" (what the heck is he gonna say when they cut the oil spigot -- which may very well happen -- "please talk to our folks at Texaco" sheesh). And his speaking style is starting to look -- dare I say it -- even more wooden than Al Gore. Don't get me wrong, I'd personally MUCH rather see a Republican Administration and I voted that way. And I so much want to like what I see in George W. But he just ain't cutting it yet. All I can say now is: thank goodness for Dick Cheney!

<<The country would be best served by closure.>>

I agree 100%
Unfortunately the only way for closure is a complete manual recount of the entire state.

Hell I am willing to say dimpled votes do not count at all. OK
Just count the damn votes.

I am tired of all the republicans saying the vote has been counted 3 times.
BULLSH*T.

Gore is correct. There never has been a count let alone a re-count.

The first machine recount showed enough discrepancies to clearly invalidate both the macvhine counts.
A full manula recount was not done.

Bush would rather win a stolen election with the help of one big bi**h Harris than to have a legitimate election.

History will not be kind to Bush unless he wins on a complete recount. For the life of me, I do not understand how he does not see this.
